Playground Hybrid Turf a Perfect Solution for Clubs That Find It Difficult to Maintain a Natural Grass
Playground Hybrid Turf
Playground hybrid turf is a mixture of natural grass
and synthetic reinforcing fibers. It is often used for training and stadium
pitches and for golf, rugby, baseball, and football grounds, while reinforced
natural grass is also often used for concerts and events. In short, the playground
hybrid is widely used in sports arenas and stadiums. These turfs are available
in different shapes and sizes and are highly customizable and suitable for both
commercial and residential spaces. Thus, there is an increasing demand
worldwide.
The playground hybrid turf market is expected to surpass US$ 9,717 million by the end of 2030, exhibiting a CAGR of 6.8% during the forecast period (2022 to 2030).
A hybrid sports pitch combines both synthetic fibers and natural grass to produce a surface that can be used for a wide variety of sports. They are a variety of methods used to create this type of system. This is typically done in two ways, either stitching the fibers into the natural turf, or laying an artificial grass carpet on top of the natural grass. It involves fitting artificial grass on top of soil and then planting natural grass seed over the top. This creates a 'weave-like' surface. Hybrid pitches are approved by bodies such as FIFA. Hybrid turf is used across a variety of sports across the world. For example, playground hybrid turf pitches are being used worldwide by top-level football teams. Moreover, hybrid pitches have been used for some of the biggest tournaments in the world, including at the World Cup. Hybrid pitches use a combination of artificial and real grass. This is around 5% synthetic and95% natural grass. Hybrid pitches are effective because they can endure more hours of play while recovering faster than 100% natural grass.
Thus, there is an increasing demand for playground
hybrid around the world, especially in Asia Pacific (APAC). For example, in
January 2020, BCCI planned to build a new Centre of Excellence to replace the National
Cricket Academy (NCA), with an investment of around Rs. 500 crore, in
Bengaluru. The centre will have hybrid pitches to mimic those found in
countries like Australia, England, and New Zealand.
